Chapter 1:15
"But I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I was only a little angry, but they added to the calamity."
Lots of people misunderstood God and said the unpleasant character about God:
unforgiving control-freak, unjust, jealous , racist......
Most of them say this kind of things because this is the kind of God in the Old Testament. They only read part of the Old Testament or did not spend time to read the history background. I did the same thing before.
God's punishment towards Israel was temporary. He waited for them to repent and comforted them. God came as human being and suffered on the cross in order to save us from my sins demonstrated his greatest love towards me.
Isaiah 54:7-8
"For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you."
